Live Event Text Opt-In
Use this strategy when you are wanting to advertise opting into a service at a large event, but do not want participants to take the time to fill out a form with all their information. For this specialized case, inbound lead nurturing would not be conducive. Instead, go ahead and create a special workflow that allows for a simple text with their name and a unique keyword to be opted into a workflow for confirmation of opt in and adding a tag for easy filtering for future DR campaigns.
Go to workflows and create a new one (you could also copy any lead nurturing workflow, however, it would require heavy customization.
Create a Workflow Trigger
- Click “Add New Workflow Trigger”
- Title Trigger “Text in Trigger”
- Keep Workflow Trigger Type as CRM
- Choose Workflow Trigger ~~> Customer Replied ~~> Contains Phrase ~~> “[keyword]”
Add
Contact Tag
- Add Action (plus symbol)
- Action Name ~~> Add Contact Tag
- Tags ~~> “Special Event”
Create Opportunity
- Add Action (plus symbol)
- Action Name ~~> Create Opportunity
- In Pipeline ~~> [your only pipeline]
- In Pipeline Stage ~~> Opt In
Update Lead Source
- Add Action (plus symbol)
- Update Contact Field
- Action Name ~~> Update Lead Source
- Fields ~~> Lead Source ~~> Special Event
Send SMS
- Add Action (plus symbol)
- Send SMS
- Message ~~> “Thanks for opting in! Be on the lookout for your offer soon!”
Once this workflow is saved and published, all you need to do is instruct the participants to text their name and keyword to your twilio number. At that point, they will be added to your contacts with the tag “Special Event”. You can then filter for that tag and launch DR or any campaign specifically for them.
